Buddenbrooks

I just finished reading Thomas Mann’s Buddenbrooks, in John E. Woods’s translation. It’s a work of staggering greatness, and I was so mesmerized for 648 pages that I neglected to highlight any passages for posting. This is an oversight to be corrected upon rereading.
